“A Throwback To The Dark Old Days”

Mail Voting = Corruption And Fraud

Most developed countries, especially in Europe, ban mail-in voting to fight vast fraud and vote buying that had threatened the integrity of their elections, according to an exhaustive review of voting rules and histories in over 30 major nations.

In the European Union, 63% have put a ban on mailing in ballots except for citizens living overseas. Another 22% have imposed a ban even for those overseas. And most of those that allow mail-in ballots require some form of photo ID to get one, according to the report from the Crime Prevention Research Center shared with Secrets.

“These countries have learned the hard way about what happens when mail-in ballots aren’t secured. They have also discovered how hard it is to detect vote buying when both those buying and selling the votes have an incentive to hide the exchange,” said author John R. Lott, the center’s president.

While politicians in the United States have been debating the pros and cons of mail-in voting due to concerns of spreading COVID-19 at the polls and new reports of postal service and vote counting issues, Lott, whose center is known for its gun research, built a voting database of the European Union and the larger Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development countries.

Those countries, said Lott, are typically held up by Democrats as a model to follow.

“Liberals and progressives often try to model the U.S. on Western European countries in many ways, but you never hear them arguing that we should adopt their voting rules. There is a reason for that. Banning mail-in voting or requiring people to use photo IDs to obtain a mail-in ballot is quite common in developed countries, especially in Europe,” he said in the report.

Job Loss Numbers, Free States VS Lockdown States

OT, and just for gits and shiggles (yeah right):

Another amazing study ... and totally unexpected too.

Government’s Most Most Essential Workers Are Government Workers

As in No Kidding. You didn’t think they’d lose even an hour’s pay, did you? Meanwhile, you’re out of work for as long as they feel like it.

[ Dateline Kansas ] Employment data released today for May by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Kansas has about 107,000 fewer private-sector jobs than in February, prior to Governor Kelly’s mandatory shutdown order over COVID-19.  At the same time, state government employment declined by just 200.

Residents and business owners in states under a COVID shutdown mandate from their governors are suffering far more job loss.  May private-sector employment in those 43 states was 13.1% lower than a year ago, but the states not shut down by their governors only lost 7.7% of their private job base.

Thirty-two of the 43 states shut down suffered more than 10% private job loss.

The governors of those 43 states were much more protective of state employees, however.  In fact, eight states – Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island – had more state employees in May than a year ago.  New Jersey’s private sector was devastated with an 18.5% job loss, but state government jobs declined by just 0.4%.

None of the governors that didn’t lock their states down increased state employment levels.  Collectively, the shutdown states had 5.2% fewer state government employees in May compared to a year ago, compared to a 9% decline in the seven states that weren’t shut down.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem took a lot of heat from national media for not closing her state, but her actions are positioning the state for a COVID economic recovery.  With private job loss of just 6.9%, tax revenue loss should be must less than many other states; Governor Noem will also be better prepared to deal with tax loss, having reduced state government employment by 14.1%.

...

South Dakota also has a very low COVID mortality rate, at just 1.3% as of June 17.  The seven states not shut down have an average COVID mortality rate of 1.8%, while the other states’ average mortality rate is 5.5%.

The states locked down by the governors also have more deaths per million of population (375 vs. 103), and South Dakota is even lower, at just 88 deaths per million.

COVID cases per million are also 11% higher in the states that were shut down, There are 6,791 cases per million in the states that were shut down and 6,073 in the other states.

Inspector General’s Report on Hillary Clinton: Uncooperative Liar.

Right now I’ve been trying to get settled back in at home (which is hard when we have to be ready to leave at the drop of a hat) and have been working on the big anniversary post that will be coming up. HOWEVER, I promised that I would make a post about the Inspector General’s analysis of Hillary’s e-mails, and I am as good as my word, old news as it may be.

But first, a word of introduction is probably necessary to explain what kind of paper this is. Firstly, this paper is not fundamentally about putting Hillary and her staff alone under a microscope and calling her out for bullshit. It’s easy to imagine why given a lot of the reactions people have had- and particularly the vampire before cross reaction the Klinton Kampaign has had- so it might come as a bit of a disappointment. However, this is less about Hillary Clinton and more about the State Department as a whole.

Namely it’s the IG doing an autopsy of the State Departmen over the last several years and several Secretaries of State. It is sort of a list of “What went wrong under whose tenure?” Which means that it might not have the sheer juiciness that a blog post calling Clinton out specifically has. That, and it is lengthy and *VERY* Dry.

But the other side of the coin is that it also is very thorough, and it handily refutes Clinton’s expected spin that this is all a horrible partisan hack job unfairly targeting poor Hitlery. While it does seem like- as someone Charitably called it- the State Department has had a hard time transitioning to the modern age and screwups were endemic, Clinton’s rampant breaches of security are in a class by herself.

Read it All. It’s Well Worth It. It’s well worth it, and with the media and White House being what it is, it’s important WE Know the answer.

FactCheck.org has a nice set of Highlights for your reading pleasure.

To quote the reaction of the Former AF Intelligence friend I mentioned..

I’ll volunteer for the firing squad.
That’s all I can think of reading this report.

Also fuck this Gration guy. Him resigning is NOT how it’s supposed to work.,
Fucking
jail
time.
That fucker needs to be wearing orange, yesterday.
But no, he’s special, the law doesn’t apply to
All this “Clinton BELIEVED she was complying… TOOK STEPS TO comply...” is horseshit too.

The law rarely gives two shits about your intent. They even have a specific phrase for this!!
“At the time you knew OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN”

I can be held accountable for the ENTIRETY of USC, ALL of the IRS Tax Code, every single environmental regulation, whatever bullshit illegal requirement BATFE decides to fart out..... and that’s just on the FEDERAL level. The same thing applies to the State too.

Because, “at the time I knew or should have known” the law, I was in violation. And the fact that the law exists is deemed sufficient that I should have known it.

So, no, this bitch needs a lead brain transplant.

Well, the United States respects no special citizens. And it’s time that more people understand what the hell has gone on with this. For more people to understand just WHAT Kind of Monster Hillary Clinton is.

So remember to spread these links around. As much as possible.

Norway Takes Step One

Norway Deports 824 Muslims, Crime Drops At Least 30%

Norway recently made the controversial decision to deport a large amount of Muslims with ties to radical groups.

Despite all the liberals in Norway deeming this “racist”, the logical party went ahead with it and the result almost shut down every opposing voice in the government instantly. This is one of the best stories we have eve seen come from such a liberal area of the world.

Violent Crime Dropped By 30%.

Norwegian authority claims that 824 people were deported in October, for such a small country, that’s a record breaking number. The authorities attributed the change to “portfolio priorities” which have essentially made it easier to deport people back to Nigeria & Afghanistan.

A record number of people were deported by Norwegian authorities in October, said government sources.

The National Police Immigration Service Norway (Politiets Utlendingsenhet – PU) deported 824 people in October, which is a new record.

The previous record was set in September, the month prior, when 763 people were deported, reported Dagsavisen.

Oslo, Norway: “The world’s largest gang of thugs, murderers, and rapists is masquerading as a religion of peace,” says Adrian Stavig, a resident of Oslo.

Beginning this past January, the new Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg began a program which targets and deports Muslims who have ties to radical groups.

While many in America would say this is racist, it’s worked in dramatic fashion. Violent crimes are down more than 31% in Norway.

What a shocker.

Perhaps the rest of Europe and the United States could learn a lesson or two about radical Islam here. Deport the radicals, keep the moderates, and everybody wins.

Golly, I wonder what would happen to the crime stats if they deported 10,000 more? Diminishing returns, square of the radius, and all that ... have to take it up an order of magnitude to get to the next point on the curve.

It’s a start.

This Rather Galls Me

What Planet Have You Been Living On?

On the one hand, I’m relieved to see that the essays put out by right-wing think tanks are getting more pointed.

On the other hand, what they are saying now is what I have been screaming about since 2007. And thousands of other “crazy” “wingnut” “VRWC” “teabagger” Conservative bloggers too.

And yet, STILL, still we have loud mouth know it alls like Bill O’Reilly, willfully blind so as to appear “balanced” walking down the middle of the road with his eyes shut tight, denying that traffic is zooming past him from one side. And he’s the crazy far rightwing one, according to vast legions of Kool-Aide drinking leftists.

Wake the heck up already you morons. I’m blue in the face at this point and I don’t know if I can shout out the warnings much longer.

And this ... treasonous criminal ... still polls in the mid 40s? My heart breaks, my brain implodes.

But of course it’s all hogwash. The knee jerk over-reaction to certain things, the under-reaction to other things, and the distraction techniques they employ are all by design.

And the design was crystal clear when, earlier this month, as part of Obama’s desperate drive to absolve Islam of any responsibility for the murderous brutality that is unfolding around the world, he had the audacity to say that the media overstates the threat of terrorism. He accused the media of exploiting terrorism because “if it bleeds, it leads.”

He spoke as if referring to ambulance chasing coverage by a tabloid magazine. It was appalling to realize this man-child was talking about coverage of genocide. Of institutionalized kidnapping, rape, torture, and all manner of barbarity under the banner of the religion he seems to love so very dearly.

Depraved does not even begin to describe Obama’s words.

When reality does not fit his script, there is no depth to which he will not sink. We have seen this play out over and over again. His determination to turn the public eye away from the awful truth before us is relentless.

It is sick. And it feels sick to be exposed to it, to him, and the abject evil he seems to embody.

Read the rest at American Thinker, “Obama defends islam at all costs”.

Or just look at the cartoon, which says pretty much the same thing ...

IF if if ... if I should make it another couple of years, and if some normal American take the White House in 2016, and if the commies, America haters, jihad enablers, BRA racists, and greenie lunatics should be run out of DC, and if the lying sycophant bastards in the media are all put up against a wall and “re-educated” ... then in another decade or two when the truth finally emerges that this stinkweed never was an actual citizen, natural born or not, and thus was never even eligible to be elected bedbug counter, much less President ... I think I’m going to have an apoplectic aneurism.

Pollster Points Out The Holes

Jim Clifton, CEO of Gallup: 5.6% Unemployment Rate Is The Big Lie

Well no, really? Golly, us dumb and bitter flyover clingers never woulda figgered that one out, not ever. Certainly not 7 or even more years ago. Certainly not when we see the economy shrink by a third, leaving millions of trained, able, competent people washed up on the sidelines. Certainly not when we see waves of illegals, millions strong, flooding our nation to absorb the lower end jobs available, send the money out of our country, and leave disease and crime in its place. No, we never figured any of this out, not even those of us who managed to hang on to that corporate office job, although maybe forgoing a raise for the past 5 to 7 years to do it, while the ever expanding government kept right on giving itself raises and hiring more and more of the “right kind” of people. No, we never guessed any of this.

Here’s something that many Americans—including some of the smartest and most educated among us—don’t know: The official unemployment rate, as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, is extremely misleading.

Right now, we’re hearing much celebrating from the media, the White House and Wall Street about how unemployment is “down” to 5.6%. The cheerleading for this number is deafening. The media loves a comeback story, the White House wants to score political points and Wall Street would like you to stay in the market.

...

There’s no other way to say this. The official unemployment rate, which cruelly overlooks the suffering of the long-term and often permanently unemployed as well as the depressingly underemployed, amounts to a Big Lie.

And it’s a lie that has consequences, because the great American dream is to have a good job, and in recent years, America has failed to deliver that dream more than it has at any time in recent memory. A good job is an individual’s primary identity, their very self-worth, their dignity—it establishes the relationship they have with their friends, community and country. When we fail to deliver a good job that fits a citizen’s talents, training and experience, we are failing the great American dream.

Thanks for finally coming clean, Mr. Pollster. For that we’ll allow you to put on your own blindfold and tie yourself to the post. You’re still getting the firing squad for misleading the people for years on end, taking part in the big charade.  It’s because of your absolute dishonesty, yours and your media cronies, that we’re in this mess, almost to begin with.

ISIS commits another crime afainst humanity

Guess those dysfunctional WMDs that didn’t exist weren’t so non-existant or dysfunctional after all. Guess maybe Bush didn’t lie either. Aww Hell, it probably was “Mission Accomplished”, at least the first mission, after Saddam’s fall from power. As a delusional moonbat liberal, up until now willfully blind, I just don’t know how to react from having my blindfold torn from my head and my face rubbed in my own bullshit. Oh, but it hurts! It burns!!

ISIS Using Chlorine Gas Against Iraqis

File this one under No-shit Sherlock.

The U.S. is investigating claims that Islamic State militants used chemical weapons against Iraqis last month, in what would be a serious escalation of the fighting in the region.

Iraqi officials have told media outlets that the terror group used chlorine gas bombs during clashes in September near Baghdad.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest and a spokesman with the Pentagon could not confirm the reports but said they are taking them “seriously” and investigating the claims.

“We continue to take all allegations of chemical weapons use—and in particular these recent allegations regarding the use of chlorine as a chemical weapon—very seriously,” Pentagon spokesman Col. Steven Warren said in a statement. “The use of chlorine as a chemical weapon is an abhorrent act.”

Did you notice that Obola isn’t making any Red Lines in the sand not to be crossed? Guess he either doesn’t care what ISIS does, or supports their cause after all.

And it’s “claims”, not even “reports”. Because rows of gassed bodies are so hard to identify from their green skin and popped eyeballs and so forth.

The allegations come after chemical weapons use in Syria last year prompted a standoff between the Obama administration and the Assad government. Though President Obama had called the use of chemical weapons a “red line,” he ultimately backed down when Bashar Assad agreed to turn over his weapons stockpile. Asked Friday if the latest attack, if confirmed, would change the approach to the Islamic State fight, Earnest did not say.

“We’re going to investigate those reports,” Earnest said.

Three Iraqi officials—a senior security official, a local official from the town of Duluiya and an official from the town of Balad – had told The Associated Press that the Islamic State group used bombs with chlorine-filled cylinders during clashes in late September in the two towns.

Smells like pure CYA to me.

The senior security official said it was most likely that the Islamic State fighters obtained the chlorine from water purification plants in the areas they have overrun. Iraqi intelligence has indicated that the group has shells filled with chlorine that are ready to be used, the security official said.

“The IS fighters seized some quantities of chlorine after seizing control of some water purification plants or sites where chlorine was kept,” said the senior official, adding that the “IS group has some experts who were able to manufacture chlorine shells.”

Yeah, that’s it. In an era when almost nobody on earth has knowledge about chemical weapons, some rag-tag group of “Junior Varsity” upstart sand lice has experts on the subject who can MacGyver your swimming pool into poison gas artillery rounds. Riiiiight.

Gosh, what other BS can they sling at us on this one?

Chlorine gas, when inhaled, swallowed or exposed to through skin, causes difficulty in breathing, coughing, and eye and skin irritation. It is not as toxic or effective at killing as sarin, a nerve agent, and experts say it is difficult to achieve high concentrations of chlorine by dropping it from the air.

Let’s ask the tens of thousands of casualties from the First World War about that ... oh, wait, we can’t. They’re all dead. Since 1915.

On April 22, 1915, the Germans launched their first and only offensive of the year. Known as the Second Battle of Ypres, the offensive began with the usual artillery bombardment of the enemy’s line. When the shelling died down, the Allied defenders waited for the first wave of German attack troops but instead were thrown into panic when chlorine gas wafted across no-man’s land and down into their trenches. The Germans targeted four miles of the front with the wind-blown poison gas and decimated two divisions of French and Algerian colonial troops.

The use of poison gas is such a blatant violation of all the world’s rules of warfare that a wholesale execution of every last person in ISIS would be justified. Not even Hitler allowed his troops to use gas in combat.

Gee, Who DIDN’T See This Coming

Swipe Yo EBT, Buy Yo Blunts

Colorado tokers sending EBT money up in smoke

For the past six months, welfare beneficiaries in Colorado have repeatedly withdrawn their cash benefits at marijuana retailers and dispensaries, according to a new analysis by National Review Online. Such apparent abuses have caught the eye of Colorado’s executive and legislative powers alike, and the state has launched an effort to curb them.

At least 259 times in the first six months of legalized recreational marijuana in Colorado, beneficiaries used their electronic-benefit transfer (EBT) cards to access public assistance at weed retailers and dispensaries, withdrawing a total of $23,608.53 in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash, NRO’s examination found.

In 2012, the latest fiscal year available, Colorado used $124 million in TANF money from the federal government, according to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities. Withdrawals at marijuana establishments represented only a tiny fraction of the more than 500,000 total EBT transactions that have occurred since recreational weed became legal in Colorado on January 1. And it’s impossible to determine how much of that welfare money actually was used to buy pot, given that cash benefits are fungible and some of these establishments also sell groceries.

Nevertheless, welfare withdrawals at weed stores are coming under increasing scrutiny, and Colorado’s legislators and bureaucrats are beginning an effort to restrict abuses.

On July 11, the Colorado State Board of Human Services passed an emergency rule, effective immediately, restricting the use of TANF funds at marijuana shops, bars, liquor stores, gambling establishments, and other potentially inappropriate venues.

Gee, no kidding. Duh.

If you set the welfare system up so that people can get cash, then some of them will use that cash for luxury items, entertainment, and recreational drugs. We saw this with the post-Katrina emergency cash cards used to buy lap dances, we’ve seen it for years with every bodega in the country, and we’ve seen it for ages to a lesser extent with the “sub currencies” of cases of Pepsi soda in the Appalachian areas and the liquid Tide detergent in the urban areas. Give people money and they will spend it on what they feel like. Give them credit to acquire what can be exchanged for money, and they’ll do that as well.

There are no surprises here. And making some kind of effort to keep the EBT machines away from the stoner shops is a waste of money. Do you think these folks can’t walk half a block down the street from the grocery store? Give me a break. If you want a screw-proof system, then make the cards usable for an issue package. By which I mean, given the universal computerization and government access to everything, that your EBT card is good for a monthly allocation of 6 2lb packages of hamburger, 4 4 roll packages of toilet paper, 12 1lb loaves of whole wheat bread, 1 1.25lb chuck steak, 5 13oz boxes of regular Cheerios, 8 gallons of whole milk in either quarts, halves, or gallons, etc. Pretty much it becomes a shopping list, and everyone on it has to eat the same foods. It’s your issue, your distribution. No money comes out, and you can’t buy enough of any one item to be able to use it as trade stock for anything else. Any other way of doing it, and somebody is going to figure out how to play the system, to get their lap dances and their bong hits. So do it right. Or shut up.

What, Another Lie From Our Leaders?

Misperceptions about U.S. immigration policy behind surge of illegal children, report says

MISPERCEPTIONS

Oh harharhar, it is to laugh

A new intelligence assessment concludes that misperceptions about U.S. immigration policy – and not Central American violence – are fueling the surge of thousands of children illegally crossing the Mexican border.

The 10-page July 7 report was issued by the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC), which according to the Justice Department website is led by the DEA and incorporates Homeland Security. Its focus is on the collection and distribution of tactical intelligence, information which can immediately be acted on by law enforcement.

“Of the 230 migrants interviewed, 219 cited the primary reason for migrating to the United States was the perception of U.S. immigration laws granting free passes or permisos to UAC (unaccompanied children) and adult females OTMs (other than Mexicans) traveling with minors,” the report said.

Well, knock me over with a feather. How about that, they fed us another whopper. And here was me, searching the internet for news reports about all the revolutions, ethnic cleansings, slave labor, rape gangs, widespread starvation, apocalyptic disease outbreaks, and even climate change in Central America for weeks now, and not finding much of anything at all. And it turns out to be another story, just like that dingdong video that caused the Benghazi attacks.

“Most transparent administration ever”. Yeah, we’re telling you a bald faced lie, and we’re sticking to it no matter what actual truth you can find. And you can’t do anything about it. Not the kind of transparency we were looking for.

The intelligence assessment, which is unclassified but not meant to go beyond law enforcement, also cited data from the United Nations office on Drugs and Crime Statistics saying despite an explosion in the number of illegal minors, crime data for Central America actually showed a dip in violence.

Do I have to restate the obvious? Somebody at the very top of our government made a decision, and put the word out. The coyotes didn’t think this up on their own. Not a chance of that. It’s official government policy, regardless of whether it’s written down anywhere or officially approved by Congress. Somebody has a cellphone and a pen, and that’s that.

Misperceptions my big toe. Damn our media. Even when the “rebel” side exposes another massive lie, they still don’t have the guts to call a rose a rose, or by any other name. And it don’t smell sweet one bit.

No Kidding

Hey boys and girls!! Remember learning about The Carbon Cycle in 7th grade science class? Guess what? Nothing has changed at all in the years since then, except millions of stupid people have become willfully blind!

Report: CO2 Is Not a Pollutant, Provides ‘Beneficial Impacts’ to Planet

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant but a naturally occurring chemical compound that benefits plants and thus, the planet and its inhabitants, according to a lengthy report released Wednesday by the free-market Heartland Institute.

“Carbon dioxide is an aerial fertilizer that provides many beneficial impacts,” said Craig Idso, one of the lead authors of the report, when CNSNews.com asked him to name the most salient finding of the 37 scientists from 12 countries who contributed to it.

“You can look at thousands of studies – real world data studies that have actually been conducted that demonstrate beyond any doubt that higher levels of CO2 are going to increase the productivity of plants,” Idso said.

“They’re real,” Idso said of the benefits of CO2. “They’re not imagined. They’re not projected. They’re real, and they’re occurring now.”

On December 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final regulation listing CO2 as one of the greenhouses gases that is considered a pollutant that “endangers public health.” The regulation is part of what the EPA says is required under the Clean Air Act.

I am waiting for the day the entire country rises up and tells the EPA to go fuck. They are beyond merely out of control. They are a clear and present danger to the security of the free people of this nation.

“One of the overall important findings of our report is that atmospheric CO2 is not a pollutant,” Idso said. “It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that offers many biosphereric benefits.

“Probably chiefly known among all of these benefits is that elevated levels of atmospheric CO2 tend to increase the biomass and productivity of nearly all plants and ecosystems on earth,” Idso said.

Some of the other findings in the biological impacts report summary include:

• The ongoing rise in the air’s CO2 content is causing a great greening of the Earth.

• Rising levels of CO2 are increasing agricultural productivity around the world, therefore increasing food security.

• Terrestrial ecosystems have thrived around the world where temperatures have warmed, including amphibians, birds, butterflies, other insects, reptiles and mammals.

• A modest warming of the planet will result in a net reduction of human mortality from temperature-related events.

Not that we’re getting any warmer. But sure, a bit more CO2 means the Carbon Cycle runs faster. Want to slow it down? Breed more clams and oysters. They lock up Carbon in their shells, and after a few million years become limestone. In the meantime, they become lunch. Works for me!

seriously ... what kind of tardfest have we become that adult people don’t even understand the carbon cycle? High school Earth Science. 10th grade stuff. Hello, stuck on stupid, please come in??

$3.19 here in NJ

Gee, Really? “Falling gas prices could boost economy”

The sharp drop in gas prices over the last month or so could provide America’s economy with a much-needed jolt, putting money into consumers’ pockets just as the impact of federal spending cuts reverberates through the economy.

In fact, some economists believe they could balance each other out nearly dollar for dollar.

Gasoline prices have fallen some 30 cents a gallon since hitting a high of nearly $3.80 a gallon earlier this year. The drop is mostly due to declining oil prices.

If the gas price drop continues—and many expect it will—prices could slip below $3.40 a gallon by summer, according to the research firm Capital Economics.

If prices stay that low, the savings for drivers over the course of a year could top $80 billion. That’s $80 billion to spend on other things like clothes, electronics or entertainment.

“To put that into context, it is roughly the same size as the sequestration spending cuts that took effect at the start of last month,” researchers at Capital Economics wrote in a recent note. As a result, economic growth “might not be as bad as we had initially feared.”

When I can fill my old Saturn’s 11 gallon tank up for under $20 again, I’ll know that a real Recovery is happening, and that all the years of the Obama Effect have been wiped away like the bird poo on the windshield that they are. I could do that when Bush left office (gas was $1.85 when Teh Won came to power).

Our local stations are selling 87 for $3.19 - 3.25/gal cash price. The current NJ state average price is $3.30/gal.

A Belated April Fool’s?

I’ve had fun in the past on a couple other blogs with the monthly magazine released by the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. In their infinite wisdom, they named their publication

the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

and refer to it by the acronym. In short (ahem), it’s PNAS magazine.

And I’ve noted lately in another blog, how filling up the hungry maw of the ever hungry 24/7 News Cycle often leads to news stories that seem to be nothing more than the blatantly obvious ... which is wryly amusing ... but sometimes things seem to go a bit too far.

Like this one. A big long one in this month’s PNAS magazine, on big penises. Hey, it’s science! Show respect!

Penis size interacts with body shape and height to influence male attractiveness

Abstract

Compelling evidence from many animal taxa indicates that male genitalia are often under postcopulatory sexual selection for characteristics that increase a male’s relative fertilization success. There could, however, also be direct precopulatory female mate choice based on male genital traits. Before clothing, the nonretractable human penis would have been conspicuous to potential mates. This observation has generated suggestions that human penis size partly evolved because of female choice. Here we show, based upon female assessment of digitally projected life-size, computer-generated images, that penis size interacts with body shape and height to determine male sexual attractiveness. Positive linear selection was detected for penis size, but the marginal increase in attractiveness eventually declined with greater penis size (i.e., quadratic selection). Penis size had a stronger effect on attractiveness in taller men than in shorter men. There was a similar increase in the positive effect of penis size on attractiveness with a more masculine body shape (i.e., greater shoulder-to-hip ratio). Surprisingly, larger penis size and greater height had almost equivalent positive effects on male attractiveness. Our results support the hypothesis that female mate choice could have driven the evolution of larger penises in humans. More broadly, our results show that precopulatory sexual selection can play a role in the evolution of genital traits.

It took a team of four scientists to do the research. Amazingly, it was not the team of Wang, Peters, Johnson, and John Thomas, but the team of Wong, Peters, Mautz, and Jennions. Translating the above abstract of their research from Scientese to English, with the aid of an analytical third-party peer review article that goes to reasonable, but not painful, length to understand the thrust of their reasoning ... and we get the earth shattering news that Chicks Big On Dicks, and the 24/7 news cycle is once again satisfied. But never satiated.

Science proves women like men with bigger penises

The human male possesses the Italian designer faucet of penises. They’re pretty big, the biggest of any primate’s relative to body size. And they’re showy, too, right out there, front and center on our upright bodies (i.e., they don’t retract), as if they were meant to be seen as part of the décor. Why?

A study released today in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) offers an explanation: Women are attracted to penises, and the bigger the better.

“Penis size does affect attractiveness,” lead author Brian Mautz, a University of Ottawa post-doctoral researcher said in an NBCNews.com interview.

Past research has seemed to indicate that women, as a group, are drawn to larger male members. But those results have been disputed as sexist, or scientifically flawed, or both.

So Mautz and his team, working at the Australian National University, designed an experiment in hopes of settling the controversy. They created 49 unique, computer-generated, nude, life-sized male figures. Each figure varied in three traits: height, shoulder-hip ratio and flaccid penis size.

The researchers then displayed all the figures to 105 Australian women with an average age of 26. The women, who were not told which traits varied, were asked to rate the attractiveness of the figures as sexual partners on a scale of 1-7. The women were alone in the room and their responses were anonymous.

As past studies have shown, women prefer tall men with broad shoulders and narrow hips, like an Olympic swimmer. But when Mautz controlled for those variables, it turned out that penis size (overall length and girth) was about as important as stature.

“As you increase penis size, the amount of attractiveness scores gets bigger” in a linear fashion, he explained, until 7.6 centimeters, or 3 inches. After three inches, attractiveness still increased, but in smaller increments.

Not only were the ratings higher, but the women also spent more time gazing at the generously endowed figures, a sign they preferred looking at them as opposed to figures with smaller penises.

Women with a greater body mass index held stronger preferences for big penises. And size was most critical in tall men, perhaps, Mautz speculated, because “a taller guy must have a disproportionately larger penis to sort of make it clear” he’s endowed.

So there you have it. You would assume that such a study would also point out the statistically most popular male height given that they already knew the most popular male body shape. A little cock-up perhaps, or else the researchers just wanted to stay true to the thesis in hand.

Or as Mautz puts it in his paper, “Our results support the hypothesis that female mate choice could have driven the evolution of larger penises in humans.”

Of course, this is the 21st century. Most men wear pants – or at the very least, kilts. Mautz was quick to soothe men by saying that his study did not include other proven mate choice factors like money, intelligence, hair or whether a guy drives a 1997 Chevy Astro.

Hey, how about a 1997 Saturn? LOL

Six Months Too Slow Buttheads

(R) Lawmakers demand access to survivors injured in Benghazi attack

Six months after the Sept. 11 terror attack in Benghazi, Republican lawmakers are fuming that they haven’t been granted access to the survivors – several of whom, Fox News has learned, are still recovering at Walter Reed.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told Fox News on Wednesday that he spoke to a “handful of people” when he visited Libya shortly after the attack but has struggled to gain access to the survivors ever since.

“We want talk to the survivors—they won’t do that. And then the president has the gall to go on television and say ‘oh, we’re providing all the access’? Baloney. Bull-crap. That is not happening.”

Estimates of how many Americans were injured in the Libya assault vary.

Reps. Frank Wolf, R-Va., and Jim Gerlach, R-Pa., claim sources have told them up to 30 were injured, and up to seven may still be at Walter Reed. “Several may have required amputations,” they wrote in a letter to colleagues last week.

A source close to the survivors, though, told Fox News that seven were injured – not 30 – and that at least three are still at Walter Reed. Another may be recovering in California. The source said one of the injured underwent a partial leg amputation. Another is suffering from smoke inhalation and possible brain injury.

Fox News has been told that some of the survivors work in clandestine services and do not want their names made public, though they do wonder why nobody from key committees has called them in for closed hearings to testify on what transpired that night.

You sominabatching morunes. You fargin iceholes. There ought to have been a full blown committee there to meet these guys the day after they came out of surgery. This whole situation is a disgusting catastrophe. And I blame the worthless, comingled* backstabbing Republicans for this entirely. They should have been wailing like air raid sirens, every damn one of them, 24-7, from the moment this fiasco went down. And the truth should have been DRAGGED out of the administration and all the Secret Squirrel alphabet SpyBoy agencies no later than late September. And impeachment hearings begun immediately for the total bullshit story sphinctered out all over the American public. It may have turned the tide of the election.  It ought to have caused a massive pogrom at State. Instead, Boner and his band of knee-pad wearing corksnockers just rolled over on their backs and let the country be lied to and the media allowed to bury the story. And let that lying muslime jizzstain get re-elected.

Worthless bastiges.

* yes, comingled. Like you do with your recycling: several different kinds of worthless garbage mixed together in a dirty dumpster.

Oh Shut Up Already. And Just Go Away

Report shows UN admitting solar activity may play significant role in global warming

The Earth has been getting warmer—but how much of that heat is due to greenhouse gas emissions and how much is due to natural causes?

A leaked report by a United Nations’ group dedicated to climate studies says that heat from the sun may play a larger role than previously thought.

“[Results] do suggest the possibility of a much larger impact of solar variations on the stratosphere than previously thought, and some studies have suggested that this may lead to significant regional impacts on climate,” reads a draft copy of a major, upcoming report from the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Yeah. Significant. Good word. I’d guess ... oh, about 98.73%. No sun, no heat, and it’s back to planet ice cube. More sun, more heat. Duh.

This little bit of data was buried in Chapter 11 of the report. I wonder which chapter - maybe 38, or 74? - has the part that says Global Warming stopped 16 years ago, like the news in the UK the other week disclosed?

“The solar component is real but not of sufficient magnitude to have driven most of the warming of the late 20th century,” Pat Michaels, the former president of the American Association of State Climatologists, and current director of the Center for the Study of Science at the Cato Institute, told FoxNews.com.

The U.N. report also says that the effect of solar activity will be “much smaller than the warming expected from increases in [man-made] greenhouse gases.”

An estimate from NASA said that solar variations caused 25 percent of the 1.1 degree Fahrenheit warming that has been observed over the past century.

Wait, is this the same Muslim Outreach Group NASA that’s part of the Big Lie and is in it up to their eyebrows with all those other politically motivated “scientists”? And now they’re admitting to 25%? Which makes the reality at least 3 times as much? I’d say “liar liar pants on fire” but that would probably get me a Carbon Violation from the EPA.
